This here thing, the Sentro 48 knitting machine, it’s a right curious contraption. Got me one a while back, thought it’d be good for making things quick, you know? My old hands ain’t what they used to be, and knitting the regular way, well, it takes a good long while.
This Sentro thing, it’s got 48 needles, they say. That’s a lot, I reckon. You just crank a handle, and it goes round and round, knitting up a tube or a flat piece, depending on what you want. Sounds simple, huh? Well, sometimes it is, sometimes it ain’t.
First off, it’s all made of plastic. Feels kinda cheap, like it might break if you look at it too hard. But I guess that’s how they make things these days. Everything’s plastic. Back in my day, things were made of good, strong metal. Built to last, they were. This Sentro knitting machine? I don’t know. I got my doubts.
When I first got it, I was excited. Thought I’d be whipping up hats and scarves like nobody’s business. And for a while, it was working okay. Made a few things, not perfect, but not bad either. Then, it started acting up. Making this awful clicking sound. Like it’s got a bone stuck in its throat.

I tried everything. Oiled it up real good. Made sure the yarn wasn’t too tight or too loose. Still clicking. I swear, that machine’s got a mind of its own. Some days it works, some days it don’t. And that row counter, don’t even get me started on that thing. Sometimes it counts, sometimes it skips. It is not good for Sentro 48 knitting machine review.
I was making two of the same thing for my grandkids other day, and one ended up way longer than the other. That counter just skipped a whole bunch of rows. Made me so mad, I nearly threw the whole thing out the window! Sentro 48 knitting machine is just not reliable.
And the yarn, oh, the yarn! You gotta use just the right kind. Too thick, and it gets stuck. Too thin, and it makes these big holes. The Sentro 48 knitting machine instructions say that weight 3 or thin weight 4 yarn is okay. I found a yarn I liked, and it worked for a while. Then, wouldn’t you know it, they changed the yarn! Now it’s all different, and it don’t work as well. It is just annoying when using Sentro 48 knitting machine.
And trying to get it to stay put on the table! It’s got these little suction cup things on the bottom, but they don’t stick to nothing. The whole thing slides all over the place while you’re trying to crank it. I had to get my neighbor to help me figure out a way to clamp it down. We used some wood and some of those C-clamp things. It’s a whole production just to use the darn thing.
Another thing, that mode switch, it’s supposed to switch between making a tube and a flat panel. Mine’s stuck. Won’t budge. Just stuck on tube mode. So, if I want to make a flat piece, I gotta do some fancy fiddling with the yarn. It’s a real pain. I don’t think I can use Sentro 48 knitting machine to make panel.
I seen some folks online, they make all sorts of fancy things with their Sentro knitting machine. Hats with stripes and patterns, even sweaters! I don’t know how they do it. Maybe their machines work better than mine. Or maybe they’re just smarter than me.
I wanted to use my Sentro 48 knitting machine to make some blankets. But I heard some folks said that it is hard to make blankets because the mode switch is not good. I guess I will give up on that plan.
All in all, I’d say this Sentro 48 knitting machine is a mixed bag. It can be useful if you are lucky, but it’s also a lot of trouble. If you’re thinking about getting one, I’d say be prepared for some frustration. And don’t expect it to last forever. It’s just a cheap plastic thing, after all. You get what you pay for, I reckon. I don’t think I will buy a Sentro knitting machine again.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go find my old knitting needles. They might be slow, but at least they’re reliable. And they don’t make that awful clicking sound!
And one more thing, that handle, it is not comfortable to hold on to for a long time. After a while, my hand starts to cramp up. I wish they made it with a softer grip or something. It’s just not made for old hands like mine, I guess. I need to take breaks often when using my Sentro 48 knitting machine.
And don’t even get me started on the instructions! They’re written in that tiny, tiny print. I had to use a magnifying glass just to read them. And they’re not very clear either. It’s like they were written by someone who’s never even used a Sentro 48 knitting machine before!
Sometimes I think about all the money I spent on this thing and all the yarn I bought, and I just want to cry. It’s a lot of money down the drain. I could have bought a whole lot of other things with that money. Things I actually need. Like a new pair of shoes or a warm coat for the winter. The Sentro 48 knitting machine price is not worth it.
So, there you have it. My honest opinion about the Sentro 48 knitting machine. It’s a gamble. You might get lucky, and it might work great for you. But you might also end up with a clicking, skipping, yarn-eating monster like mine. Just be warned. The Sentro 48 knitting machine is not as good as it looks.
