Okay, so, I’ve been getting into knitting lately. You know, it’s that thing where you use needles and yarn to make stuff. At first, I was all about doing it by hand, which is cool and all, but also, who has that kind of time? Not me, let me tell you. So I started looking into these things called knitting machines.

Did some digging
First, I had to figure out what these machines even are. Turns out, they’re like these contraptions that can do the knitting for you. You just load up the yarn, turn a crank, or push some buttons, and boom – you’ve got yourself a knitted piece. Sounds simple, right? Well, kind of. I found out there are a bunch of different types, with different numbers of needles, or like, these pins they call them, and some even count the rows for you, how neat is that?
Checked out some brands
There’s this one brand, Addi, that kept popping up. They’re from Germany or something. They’ve got this one called the King Size, which, I guess, means it can make bigger stuff. I mean, you can make a bunch of things with these machines – small stuff, big stuff, whatever fits on the machine, really. I saw there’s another one called the Passap E6000, but that seemed a bit too advanced for me, a newbie and all.
Narrowed it down
After looking at a ton of reviews, I decided to start with something basic. I wanted one that wouldn’t be too hard to use, you know, something beginner-friendly. The machine I got has two modes, which is cool, and it even has an automatic feature. I’m not gonna lie, it was a bit of a learning curve figuring it all out, but it wasn’t too bad.
Tried it out
I started with a simple scarf. I picked out some yarn, read the instructions like a million times, and got to work. Setting up the machine was a bit fiddly, but once I got the hang of it, it was pretty smooth. Turning the crank and watching the scarf come to life was, I gotta say, pretty satisfying. It’s way faster than doing it by hand, that’s for sure.
Made some cool stuff
- Scarves: This is what I started with. Easy peasy.
- Hats: Got a bit more adventurous and made a few beanies. They turned out pretty good!
- Blanket: Okay, this one took a while, even with the machine. But it was worth it. Super cozy.
I’ve been using my knitting machine for a few months now, and I’m really getting the hang of it. I’ve made a bunch of scarves, some hats, and even a small blanket. It’s been a fun little adventure, and I’m excited to see what else I can make. This knitting machine thing is no joke, it really does save you a ton of time. So, yeah, that’s my story about getting into knitting machines. Pretty cool, huh?
